Case File 042

EXPOSING the Hebrew Roots Movement

Evidence

The Bible says if you do this your religion is useless. These people also like to think they are the innocent victim who was “only speaking the truth” and they feel justified when others get upset at them about it. They claim they are being persecuted for speaking the truth. Those people might have some knowledge, but they show themselves to be a fool because of the way they wield that knowledge to injure other people and start arguments.

The Bible says if you do this your religion
is useless.
It's time to UNLEARN the lies.
UNLEARN
Hey, welcome to UNLEARN.
My name is Lex, and I'd like to invite you
to join us each week as we UNLEARN the lies
and dig deeper into the truth of God's Word.
Now, let's get started.
I’ve seen a lot of people who claim to be
followers of Messiah treat people horribly
with their words.
They cuss, they call people names, start arguments,
and verbally abuse people, all while trying
to tell people about their beliefs.
The Bible says that people like this who can’t
control their tongue, their religion is useless.
"If anyone among you thinks he is religious,
and does not bridle his tongue but deceives
his own heart, this one's religion is useless."
- James 1:26
I see it all the time, especially online.
Someone says something that another person
disagrees with and they lash out at the other
person.
Instead of saying, “I disagree with you
on this because of these reasons”, they
tell the other person they are a pagan, or
they accuse them of being a false teacher,
or they call them any number of names meant
to humiliate and shame the other person.
There are many different scenarios, but in
each one they respond with harsh words and
stir up a fight.
The Bible says:
"A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh
word stirs up anger.
The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly,
But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness."
- Proverbs 15:1-2
So we see that a wise person gives a soft
answer that does not stir up anger and the
Bible says they are using knowledge correctly,
but a fool does the opposite.
They may have knowledge, but they aren’t
using it with wisdom, and they cause other
people to get angry because of what they say.
These people also like to think they are the
innocent victim who was “only speaking truth”
and they feel justified when others get upset
at them about it.
They claim they are being persecuted for speaking
the truth.
Those people might have knowledge, but they
show themselves to be a fool because of the
way they wield that knowledge to injure other
people and start arguments.
There are a number of places where the Bible
says a fool is one who speaks inappropriately
and causes problems.
"A fool's lips enter into contention, And
his mouth calls for blows...
A brother offended is harder to win than a
strong city, And contentions are like the
bars of a castle...
Death and life are in the power of the tongue..."
- Proverbs 18:6,19-21
A fool is one who starts a fight with his
unwise words.
These people offend others and make it even
more difficult for those people to learn the
truth because they were offended by the so-called
“truth” that fool gave them.
The Bible tells us any fool can start a quarrel,
but we should be more honorable than that.
"It is honorable for a man to stop striving,
Since any fool can start a quarrel."
- Proverbs 20:3
We have all heard the expression that pride
comes before the fall.
Well, there is nothing worse than a fool who
is puffed up with pride.
These people think they have all the answers
and they’re quick to tell everyone else
you are wrong.
The Bible calls this proud fool a scoffer.
"Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps
his soul from troubles.
A proud and haughty man, “Scoffer” is
his name; He acts with arrogant pride."
- Proverbs 21:23-24
We need to guard our mouth, choose our words
wisely, and when we do speak, we need to speak
with love and kindness.
Everything we say should be pleasing to God
and bring Him glory.
"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation
of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O
Lord, my strength and my Redeemer."
- Psalms 19:14
I’m going to be frank with you.
I see more haughty, arrogant, hateful, mean,
and angry comments from people in the Hebrew
Roots and Messianic movement, who claim to
follow Yeshua, than I see in atheists who
deny He exists.
That should not be.
We’re supposed to be known by our love for
one another, not for our horribly attitude
problems.
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love
is of God; and everyone who loves is born
of God and knows God.
He who does not love does not know God, for
God is love…
If someone says, "I love God," and hates his
brother, he is a liar; for he who does not
love his brother whom he has seen, how can
he love God whom he has not seen?”
- 1 John 4:7-8,20
The reason your religion is useless if you
don’t control your tongue is because you’re
not loving your brother, and if you don’t
love your brother, then you don’t know God.
