Biblical Feasts That Predict the Future

i can't believe it was there the whole
time and i missed it for so many years i
was raised in church and i studied
theology and bible college but i never
heard of anyone talking about these
hidden prophecies about the times and
seasons concerning the messiah so when i
learned about these things it blew me
away hi my name is lex and welcome to
unlearn i believe if the church would
teach about these hidden prophecies it
would change the whole way we do church
it would change our worship it would
change our practice and our perspective
i know this because it changed mine
today i'm going to attempt something
that i've never done before i'm going to
travel back in time this is my time
traveling chair and i want to take you
back in time 11 years to show you what i
discovered alright
here i am 11 years ago
i was studying the first century church
when i stumbled across the hidden
prophecies in the biblical feasts
growing up in church i was never taught
about the biblical feasts
but as i was studying the new testament
i realized the feast played a
significant role in the early church the
holy spirit began opening my eyes to
things i had read dozens of times but i
never noticed before for example i read
in first corinthians 5 that jesus is our
passover lamb therefore purge out the
eleven that you may be a new lump since
you truly are unleavened or indeed
christ our passover was sacrificed for
us therefore let us keep the feast not
with the old leaven nor with the living
of malice and wickedness but with the
unleavened bread of sincerity and truth
so jesus is our passover lamb and he
died on passover i'd read this verse
dozens of times but for some reason it
finally made sense to me jesus died on
passover as the passover lamb of god
there was prophetic significance in this
feast day so i kept reading and when i
got to chapter 15 i saw another prophecy
connected to a feast day when it spoke
about christ being the first fruits of
the resurrection
but now christ is risen from the dead
and has become the first fruits of those
who have fallen asleep for since by man
came death by man also came the
resurrection of the dead president adam
all die even so in christ
all shall be made alive
but each one in his own order christ the
first fruits and afterwards those who
are christ at his coming
that's interesting the resurrection is
also linked with a feast day i wonder if
there are more connections like this in
the bible we see here that the
resurrection of our lord is
prophetically connected to the feast of
firstfruits
and there's also a mention of his second
coming when his people will be
resurrected first fruits is the sunday
following passover when the high priest
would wave a single sheaf offering to
the lord and is prophetically connected
to the resurrection of jesus it was also
the beginning of the 50-day count to
pentecost which i realized also had
prophetic significance wait a minute
acts 2 talks about the giving of the
holy spirit on pentecost when the day of
pentecost had fully come they were all
with one accord in one place
then suddenly there came a sound from
heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and
it filled the whole house where they
were sitting then there appeared to them
divided tongues as a fire and one sat
upon each of them and they were all
filled with the holy spirit and began to
speak with other tongues as the spirit
gave them utterance the greek word
pentecost means 50 and in hebrew it's
called shavuot meaning the feast of
weeks because it was 50 days or seven
weeks following first fruits and we find
on the very day of pentecost is when the
holy spirit was poured out on the
disciples at this point i realized
there's something amazing going on in
the feast days so jesus died on passover
as the passover lamb of god he
resurrected on first fruits as the first
fruits of the resurrection and he poured
out the holy spirit on his disciples on
the day of pentecost oh i never seen
this before i realized that all of the
spring feasts are prophetically
connected to our messiah so i started
looking for more prophetic connections
to the feast days and i found this in
colossians so let no one judge you in
food or in drink or regarding a festival
or a new moon or sabbaths which are a
shadow of the things to come but the
substance is of christ so
paul saying that the feast days and
sabbaths are all prophetic shadows of
the messiah exactly the biblical
appointed times of god the feasts the
new moons and the sabbaths are all
prophetic shadows of things to come
they're all prophetically connected to
the mission and timing of our messiah
i'd read this verse dozens of times in
my life and never made this connection
before it's amazing when the holy spirit
opens our eyes to new things in the
bible and things just start to make
sense so i was really excited at this
point and i began looking at the feasts
in the old testament and i realized
there are three times per year when
people were required to come to worship
three times a year all your males shall
appear before the lord your god in the
place which he chooses at the feast of
unleavened bread at the feast of weeks
and at the feast of tabernacles and they
shall not appear before the lord
empty-handed every man shall give as he
is able according to the blessing of the
lord your god which he has given you we
have the spring feasts a passover the
summer feast of pentecost and the fall
feast of tabernacles which is also
called the feast of the inn gathering at
the end of the year this is amazing
so if the spring feasts are about his
first coming
does that mean the fall feasts are about
his return this jumped out at me because
i already realized that the spring
feasts were about the first coming and
the summer feast was about the giving of
the holy spirit and this confirmed my
suspicion that the fall feasts were
about the second coming the in-gathering
of god's people at the end of the age
the next thing i realized was that the
fall feasts began with the day of
trumpets
which really got me excited because i
remember the verses in the new testament
that talk about jesus coming back
at the sound of the trumpet he will send
his angels with the great sound of a
trumpet and they will gather together
his elect from the four winds from one
end of heaven to the other wait that
reminds me of what first corinthians
says behold i tell you a mystery we
shall not all sleep but we shall all be
changed in a moment in the twinkling of
an eye at the last trumpet for the
trumpet will sound and the dead will be
raised incorruptible
and we shall be changed for this
corruptable must put on incorruption and
this mortal must put on immortality
so when this corruptable has put on
incorruption and this mortal has put on
immortality
then she'll be brought to pass the
saying that is written
death is swallowed up in victory oh
death where is your sting oh hades
where's your victory i think there's
something similar to that in first
thessalonians 2 for the lord himself
will descend from heaven with a shout
with the voice of an archangel and with
the trumpet of god
and the dead in christ will rise first
then we who are alive and remain shall
be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the lord in the air
and thus we shall always be with the
lord wow that's amazing probably never
heard this before when i saw this
connection i got really excited because
i realized the season of his return is
prophetically connected to the fall
feasts after trumpets is the day of
atonement and it seems to be linked with
the final judgment and the reading of
the book of life in fact it's a jewish
tradition to greet people with the words
may your name be inscribed in the book
of life and we see in revelation 20 that
after the thousand year reign of messiah
that he will sit on judgment seat and
read from the book of life to judge
everyone both living and the dead the
last feasts on the list is the feast of
tabernacles also known as the feast of
the inn gathering and it's also referred
to as the wedding feast it's the
celebration of the harvest at the end of
the age and zechariah prophesied about
it concerning the reign of our messiah
this feast also seems to have major
significance in relation to the
worldwide reign of christ when he
returns and it shall come to pass that
everyone who is left of all the nations
which came against jerusalem shall go up
from year to year to worship the king
the lord of hosts and to keep the feast
of tabernacles and it shall be that
whichever of the families of the earth
do not come up to jerusalem to worship
the king the lord of hosts on them there
will be no rain if the family of egypt
will not come up and enter in they shall
have no rain they shall receive the
plague with which the lord strikes the
nations who do not come up to keep the
feast of tabernacles this shall be the
punishment of egypt and the punishment
of all the nations that do not come up
to keep the feast of tabernacles so
if we're going to be celebrating the
feasts in the kingdom when jesus returns
why aren't we celebrating the feast now
that's a good point the discovery of
these hidden prophecies in the feast
days radically changed my life i
realized that the feasts still have
significance today and they aren't
jewish traditions their prophetic
appointments with god they glorify jesus
and they celebrate what he has done for
us they also point to what he's going to
do when he returns
okay let's get back to the present
this is what paul was talking about in
colossians 2 when he said so let no one
judge you in food or in drink or
regarding a festival or a new moon or
sabbaths which are a shadow of things to
come but the substance is of christ when
i realize that christ is the substance
of the feasts it stirred a desire in my
heart to celebrate the feasts so in the
summer of 2011 we celebrated our first
feast day the day of pentecost and since
then we've been celebrating all of the
biblical feasts each year and we've
found so much beauty and significance in
these celebrations the feasts are an
important part of our life and we look
forward to them every year because they
celebrate our messiah what he's already
done and what he's going to do in the
future god has invited us to meet with
him at these appointed times and i don't
want to miss an appointment with god i
also realize that keeping the feasts
helps us to be more aware of god's
prophetic calendar so we aren't caught
by surprise when he returns if you want
