Case File 101

Did Jesus claim to be God? | Let's Talk Biblical | Episode 10

Evidence

I have heard people falsely say that Yeshua never claimed to be God, but that is absolutely false. Yeshua made numerous claims to His deity, both directly and indirectly, through His words, actions, and the way He fulfilled Old Testament prophecies. The apostles also claimed that Yeshua is God. So, we need to understand these claims and decide for ourselves if Yeshua is a liar, lunatic, or LORD.

if you love talking about the Bible as
much as I do then I think you really
enjoy this show Welcome to list talk
biblical the podcast where we dig deep
into the heart of scripture explore
Timeless truths and have real
conversations about what the Bible says
and how it applies to us my name is Lex
and I want to thank thank you for
joining me on today's episode so grab
your bible get comfortable and let's
talk
biblical last week we looked at the
Virgin birth and incarnation of Yeshua
and how that points to the deity of
Yeshua but today we're going to dive
deeper into understanding the deity of
Yeshua and why it matters for our
Salvation now let's dig into the
biblical truth and Theological
significance of the deity of Yeshua CS
Lewis is famous for his trilemma
apologetic in which he said that Yeshua
is either a liar a lunatic or Lord
because of his claims to deity this
argument is presented in the book Mere
Christianity I am trying here to prevent
anyone saying the really foolish thing
that people often say about him I'm
ready to accept Jesus as a great moral
teacher but I don't accept his claim to
be God that is the one thing we must not
say a man who was merely a man and said
the sort of things Jesus said would not
be a great moral teacher he would either
be a lunatic on the level with the man
who says he is a poached egg or else he
would be the devil of hell you must make
your choice either this man was and is
the Son of God or else a Madman or
something worse you can shut him up for
a fool you can spit at him and kill him
as a demon or you can fall at his feet
and call him Lord and God but let us not
come with any patronizing nonsense about
his being a great human teacher he has
not left that open to us he did not
intend to now it seems to me obvious
that he was neither a lunatic nor a
fiend and consequently however strange
or terrifying or unlikely it may seem I
have to accept the view that he was and
is God I've heard people say that Yeshua
never claimed to be God but that is
absolutely false not only did he say
things that were claims to deity but his
actions and miracles also pointed to his
deity not only that but the apostles
also claimed that Yeshua is God so we
need to understand these claims and
decide for ourselves if Yeshua is a liar
lunatic or Lord those really are the
only options if Yeshua isn't God then we
have to say he was either an insane
lunatic who thought he was God or we
have to say he was a demon-possessed
false prophet trying to lead us away
from God neither of these options allow
us to say he was a good teacher
therefore the only way we can say he was
a good teacher is to acknowledge that he
must be who he said he was and he said
that he was God over and over again so I
want to begin this conversation by
looking at some of the specific times
Yeshua claimed to be God Yeshua made
numerous claims to his deity both
directly and indirectly through his
words actions and the way he fulfilled
Old Testament prophecies the first thing
I want to point out is that Yeshua used
the divine name I am the name that
Yahweh told Moses in Exodus 3:14 and God
said to Moses I am who I am and he said
thus you shall say to the children of
Israel I am has sent me to you Yeshua
used this specific name twice and the
result was very interesting both times
the first time Yeshua is explaining that
he is greater than Abraham and that he
existed before Abraham John 85859 says
Jesus said to them most ass surely I say
to you before Abraham was I am then they
took up stones to throw at him but Jesus
hid himself and went out of the temple
going through the midst of them and so
passed by the grammar of this sentence
doesn't make sense he should have said
before Abraham was I was but that's not
what he said he specifically chose the
phrase I am even though it was not
correct grammar he chose this phrase
because he was giving us his identity as
The Great I Am who spoke to Moses notice
that they immediately picked up stones
to Stone him for blasphemy they
understood that by saying before Abraham
was I am he was using a very specific
phrase referring to himself as The Great
I Am they understood that Yeshua was
making a claim to be God and they saw it
as blasphemy which is why they picked up
stones to throw at him the same thing
happened again in John 10 when Yeshua
said that he is one with the Father John
1030 and33 says I and my father are one
then the Jews took up stones again to
Stone him Jesus answered them many good
works have I shown you from my father
for which of these Works do you Stone me
the Jews answered him saying for good
work we do not Stone you but for
blasphemy and because you being a man
make yourself God blasphemy was a
serious accusation and we see here that
they understood that he was claiming to
make himself equal with God if Yeshua
wasn't God then they were right in
saying that he was blaspheming and if he
was a blasphemer then he isn't the
Messiah however if we believe he is the
Messiah then we must understand that he
could not be blaspheming therefore he
must be speaking the truth he is The
Great I Am he did exist before Abraham
and he is equal with the father we see
his second use of this Divine name in
John 18 5-6 they answered him Jesus of
Nazareth Jesus said to them I am and
Judas who betrayed him also stood with
them now when he said to them I am they
drew back and fell to the ground some
translations say I am he but the word he
is not present in this text it was added
by translators to try to make the
sentence make sense however the exact
Greek phrase used here is egoi which
means I am the word AO is the first-
person pronoun I and the word a me means
to be or to exist he's saying I am or I
exist also notice that when he said I am
the soldiers fell backwards to the
ground he identified himself as I am and
they fell to the ground this shows us
The Authority he had to use that name
again this is the same name God spoke to
Moses at the burning bush in Exodus 3:14
and God said to Moses I am who I am
Yeshua claimed to be I am who existed
before Abraham and they tried to Stone
him for it and later when they came to
arrest him in the garden he claimed to
be I am and the soldiers fell to the
ground Yeshua also used the phrase I am
in connection with other claims of deity
for example in John 14:6 Yeshua claims
to be the exclusive path to the father
Jesus said to him I am the way the truth
and the life no one comes to the father
except for me there's a lot tpack in the
statement it's interesting to note that
the first place we see the phrase the
way in scripture is in Genesis 3:24 so
he drove out the man and he placed
cherubim at the east of the Garden of
Eden in a flaming sword which turned
every way to guard the way to the tree
of life the way to the tree of life was
cut off because of man's sin this should
help us understand what Yeshua is saying
when he calls himself the way and the
life he is the way to the tree of life
and he is the life we see another
interesting Connection in Genesis 18
when three visitors came to Abraham the
Bible identifies these three visitors as
Yahweh and two angels now listen to what
Yahweh says about Abraham in verse 19
Genesis 18:19 says for I have known him
in order that he may command his
children and his household after him
that they keep the way of the Lord to do
righteousness and Justice that the Lord
may bring to Abraham what he has spoken
to him another interesting connection is
the pillar of cloud that led Israel
through the Wilderness for 40 years the
Bible said the pillar led the way in
Exodus 13:21 it says and the Lord went
before them by day in a pillar of cloud
to lead the way the Bible also tells us
that God sent an angel to keep Israel in
the way and that they should obey him
Exodus 2320 to 21 says behold I send an
angel before you to keep you in the way
and to bring you into the place which I
have prepared beware of him and obey his
voice do not provoke him for he will not
pardon your transgressions for my name
is in him similarly when the people
sinned and built a golden calf God said
they have turned aside from the way
Exodus 328 says they have turned aside
quickly out of the way which I commanded
them they have made themselves a molded
calf and worshiped it and sacrificed to
it and said this is your god of Israel
that brought you out of the land of
Egypt these events show us that walking
in God's Commandments is the way we are
meant to follow and Yeshua is claiming
to be that way this is echoed in the
Psalms as well Psalm 258 says good and
upright is the Lord therefore he teaches
sinners in the way Psalm 19:1 says
blessed are the undefiled in the way who
walk in the law of the Lord Psalm 1927
says make me understand the way of your
precepts so I shall meditate on your
wonderful Works Psalm 11933 says teach
me oh Lord the way of your statutes and
I shall keep it to the end we also see
similar testimony in the Proverbs as
well Proverbs 6 23 says for the
Commandment is a lamp and the law is a
light reproofs of instruction are the
way of life Proverbs 1017 says he who
keeps instruction is in the way of life
but he who refuses correction goes
astray the prophets also give us
information about the way Isaiah says
there's a way that we should walk in and
I believe this is a reference to Yeshua
as well Isaiah 30:21 says your ear shall
hear a word behind you saying this is
the way walk in it whenever you turned
to the right hand or whenever you turned
to the left Isaiah also spoke of the way
of the Lord saying it's a highway for
our God Isaiah 40:3 says the voice of
one crying in the wilderness prepare the
way of the Lord make straight in the
desert a highway for our God Yeshua said
he is the way and no one comes to the
father except through him likewise John
is put forth as the Fulfillment of this
prophecy Matthew 3 1-3 says in those
days John the Baptist came preaching in
the wilderness of of Judea and saying
repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at
hand for this is he who was spoken of by
the prophet Isaiah saying the voice of
when crying in the wilderness prepare
the way of the Lord make his path
straight John Was preparing the way for
Yeshua our Lord he was preparing the
highway for our God Yeshua this same
prophecy is also mentioned in Malachi
3:1 but notice that the Lord Yahweh will
come to his Temple Malachi 3:1 says
behold I send my messenger and he will
prepare the the way before me and the
Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to
his Temple even the messenger of the
Covenant in whom you Delight behold his
coming says the Lord of hosts this is a
prophecy about the coming of Yeshua the
Lord who comes to his Temple the Temple
of Yahweh and he's the messenger of the
Covenant the New Covenant These Old
Testament prophecies point to Yeshua as
being God incarnate Yeshua claimed to be
The Great I Am who existed before
Abraham and in the Book of Revelation
Yeshua calls himself the Alpha and the
Omega the beginning and the end the
first and the last Revelation 1 18 says
I am the Alpha and the Omega the
beginning and the end says the Lord who
is and who was and who is to come the
almighty Revelation 111 says saying I am
the Alpha and the Omega the first and
the last and Revelation 117 says and
when I saw him I fell at his feet as
dead but he laid his right hand on me
saying do not be afraid I am the the
first and the last and Revelation 28
says and to the angel of the church in
Smurda write these things says the first
and the last who was dead and came to
life in Revelation 2213 says I am the
Alpha and the Omega the beginning and
the end the first and the last this is a
strong claim to deity by saying he is
the first and the last is a claim to be
Eternal he's also the beginning and the
end nothing was before him and nothing
will be after him this also connects
with some of the things see in Isaiah
about God being the first and the last
Isaiah 48:12 says listen to me oh Jacob
and Israel my called I am he I am the
first I am also the last here Yahweh is
speaking and calls himself the first and
the last but now listen carefully to
what Isaiah 44:6 says thus says the Lord
the king of Israel and his Redeemer the
Lord of hosts I am the first and I am
the last beside me there is no God
notice that this is something Yahweh is
saying about himself he is the first and
the last and there is no other God this
shows us there are not two Gods there's
only one God but notice the wording here
there are two Lords mentioned in this
verse the first is the Lord the king of
Israel and the second is called his
Redeemer the Lord of hosts both of these
Lords are linked together as one god
let's read it again Isaiah 446 says thus
says the Lord the king of Israel and his
Redeemer the Lord of hosts I am the
first and I am the last beside me there
is no God these two Lords speaking
together say I am the first and the last
beside me there is no God we see in
other places that there is no other God
except Yahweh he is the only God there
is no other God beside him Deuteronomy
32:39 says now see that I even I am he
and there is no God beside me I kill and
I make alive I wound and I heal nor is
there any who can deliver from my hand
Isaiah 455 says I am the lord and there
is no other there is no God beside me I
will G you though you have not known me
so we can't conclude there are two Gods
the testimony of the Bible is that there
is only one God but it's curious that
this one God is described as two Lords
Yeshua also refers to himself as a
servant saying that he came to serve and
to give his life to save us Matthew 2028
says just as the son of man did not come
to be served but to serve and to give
his life as a ransom for many Peter also
said that Yeshua came as a servant acts
3:26 says to you first God having raised
up his servant Jesus sent him to bless
you in turning away every one of you
from your iniquities with that in mind
listen to what Isaiah says about the
servant that God sends Isaiah 42:1 says
behold my servant whom I uphold my elect
one in whom my soul Delights I have put
my spirit upon him he will bring forth
Justice to the Gentiles here the servant
is called the elect one and God put his
Spirit upon him there are places in
Isaiah that Israel is called the servant
of God but here we see this is a
reference to a person not a nation
notice two specific details God Delights
in him and God puts his Spirit upon him
now consider what happened at the
baptism of Yeshua Matthew 3:16-17 says
when he had been baptized Jesus came up
IM immediately from the water and behold
the heavens were opened to him and he
saw the spirit of God descending like a
dove and a lighting upon him and
suddenly a voice Came From Heaven saying
this is my beloved Son in whom I am well
pleased here we see Yeshua the servant
of God was being baptized and the Holy
Spirit comes down from heaven and a
voice from Heaven says in him I am well
pleased these are the same descriptive
elements for the servant in Isaiah 42
now let's look at Isaiah 4 310 which
talks about the servant again but God
says know and understand that I am he
Isaiah 43:10 and 11 says you are my
Witnesses says the Lord and my servant
whom I have chosen that you may know and
believe me and understand that I am he
before me there was no gut formed nor
shall there be after me I even I am the
Lord and beside me there is no savior
here we see that Yahweh is telling us to
understand that he is is the servant who
was sent and he is the only God there is
no other God and no other savior besides
Yahweh so if we say that Yeshua is our
savior we need to understand that the
only savior is Yahweh so for Yeshua to
be our savior he must also be Yahweh
this chapter goes on to give an
interesting prophecy about Yeshua Isaiah
43:15 to16 says I am the Lord your Holy
One the creator of Israel your king thus
says the Lord who makes a way in the sea
and a path through the mighty Waters we
see here that Yahweh is called lord Holy
One Creator and King Yeshua is also
called lord Holy One Creator and King
but notice that he makes a path through
the mighty Waters when Yeshua walked on
water he was telling us who he is he is
the one who makes a path on the water
when we read in the gospels where Yeshua
walked on the water look at what he says
after he walked on the water Matthew
14:27 says but immediately Jesus spoke
to them saying be of good cheer I am do
not be afraid most translations say it
is I do not be afraid but the Greek
phrase used here is again ego me this
means while Yeshua was walking on water
he said I am this was done to show the
disciples that Yeshua is The Great I Am
who makes a path in the sea we see
similar statements in job and the Psalms
as well about God walking on water job
98 says he alone spreads out the heavens
and he treads on the waves of the sea
Psalm 77:19 says your way was in the sea
your path in the Great Waters and your
footsteps were not known when Yeshua
walked on the water he was telling us by
demonstration of his power that he is
God the God who makes a path in the
mighty water and Treads on the waves of
the sea now listen to what his disciples
said in response Matthew 1432 and33 and
when they got in the boat the wind
ceased
then those who were in The Boat came and
worshiped him saying truly you are the
Son of God the disciples worshiped
Yeshua and had no doubts that he truly
is the Son of God this is huge they
worshiped Yeshua the Bible tells us not
to worship any other gods and not to
worship anyone or anything but God alone
if Yeshua was not God then worshiping
him would be an act of idolatry the
Bible tells us about many times when
Yeshua was worshiped the first was at
his birth when the Magi worshiped him
and brought him gifts Matthew 2:1 says
and when they had come into the house
they saw the young child with his mother
and fell down and worshiped him and when
they had opened their Treasures they
presented gifts to him gold frankincense
and M the man who was born blind also
worshiped Yeshua John 9:38 says then he
said Lord I believe and he worshiped him
the women who saw Yeshua after his
resurrection worshiped him also Matthew
28:9 and as they went to tell his
disciples behold Jesus met them saying
Rejoice so they came and held him by the
feet and worshiped him likewise after
the Resurrection the disciples worshiped
him as well Matthew 28:17 when they saw
him they worshiped him but some doubted
this is also when Thomas proclaimed
Yeshua to be God John 20:28 says and
Thomas answered and said to him my Lord
and my God the disciples worshiped
Yeshua after his resurrection and his
Ascension as well Luke 24:52 says and
they worshiped him and returned to
Jerusalem with great joy we also see
angels and Heavenly beings worshiping
Yeshua in heaven Revelation 51-14 says
then I looked and I heard the voice of
many angels around the throne the living
creatures and the elders and the number
of them was 10,000 time 10,000 and
thousands of thousands saying with a
loud voice Worthy is the Lamb who was
slain to receive power and riches and
wisdom and strength and honor and glory
and blessing and every creature which is
in heaven and on the earth and under the
Earth such as are in the sea and all
that are in them I heard saying blessing
and honor and glory and power be to him
who sits on the throne and to the lamb
forever and ever then the four living
creatures said amen and the 24 Elders
fell down and worshiped him who lives
forever and ever in fact the Angels were
commanded to worship Yeshua when God
sent him into the world Hebrews 1:6 says
but when he again brings the firstborn
into the world he says let all the
angels of God worship Him and Hebrews 18
explains that Yeshua is God and his
power and Reign is eternal hebrews: 18
says but to the son he says your throne
oh God is forever and ever a scepter of
righteousness is the scepter of your
kingdom there's also a really
interesting verse in Philippians 2 9-11
it says therefore God also has highly
exalted him and given him the name which
is above every name that at the name of
Jesus every knee should bow of those in
heaven and of those on Earth and of
those under the Earth and that every
tongue should confess that Jesus Christ
is Lord to the glory of God the Father
this is a quote from Isaiah 45 21-23
which says and there is no other God
besides me a just God and savior there
is none besides me look to me and be
saved all you ends of the Earth for I am
God and there is no other I have sworn
by myself the word has gone out of my
mouth in righteousness and shall not
return that to me every knee shall bow
and every tongue shall take an oath here
we see that Yahweh is saying he is the
only God and the only Savior and to him
Yahweh every knee will bow and every
tongue will confess and Paul is quoting
this verse in reference to Yeshua
however we see in Scripture that Angels
reject worship saying that only God is
worthy of worship revelation 19:10 says
and I fell at his feet to worship him
but he said to me see that you do not do
that I am your fellow servant and of
your brethren who have the testimony of
Jesus worship God for the testimony of
Jesus is the spirit of Prophecy so we
see here this Angel is telling him don't
worship me worship God only but Yeshua
receives worship people worship him and
he does not reject it and we see that
even the scripture encourages us to
worship Yeshua this indicates that
Yeshua is God likewise men are not
worthy of worship in Acts 10: 25-26 it
says as Peter was coming in Cornelius
met with him and fell down at his feet
and worshiped him but Peter lifted him
up saying stand up I myself am also a
man but Yeshua received worship from
people his entire life beginning in his
birth all the way through his death and
resurrection and even into heaven he
never rejected it or rebuked anyone for
doing it and the fact fact that he is
worshiped in heaven proves his Divine
and eternal nature as God throughout the
Old Testament Yahweh is called the Lord
and throughout the New Testament Yeshua
is called the Lord there are even
numerous places where the New Testament
quotes the Old Testament in reference to
Yahweh and connects it with Yeshua for
example in Romans
109-113 it calls Yeshua Lord and quotes
prophecies from both Isaiah and Joel in
reference to Yeshua but in Isaiah Joel
these things are spoken about Yahweh
himself Romans 10: 9-13 says that if you
confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus
and believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead you will be
saved for with the heart One Believes
into righteousness and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation for
the scripture says whoever believes on
him will not be put to shame for there
is no distinction between Jew and Greek
for the same Lord over all is Rich to
all who call upon him for whoever calls
on the name of the Lord shall be saved
the pattern for salvation is laid out
here saying that we must confess that
Yeshua is Lord and believe that God
raised him from the dead to be saved
then he quotes from Isaiah saying
whoever believes on him will not be put
to shame after calling Yeshua Lord and
quoting from Isaiah Paul then quotes
from The Prophet Joel saying whoever
calls on the name of the Lord shall be
saved this is taken from Joel
2:32 which says and it shall come to
pass that whoever calls on the name of
the Lord Yahweh shall be saved for in
Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall
be Deliverance as the Lord has said
among the remnant whom the Lord calls we
see here in Joel that whoever calls on
the name of the Lord will be saved but
the word used here in Joel is the Hebrew
word for the name of God Yahweh however
when Paul quotes it he's referring to
calling Yeshua Lord indicating that
Yeshua is Yahweh this calling Yeshua
Lord is the same as calling Yeshua
Yahweh and we must confess that Yeshua
is Lord to be saved meaning that we must
confess that Yeshua is Yahweh to be
saved this shows us that the deity of
Yeshua is a matter of Salvation if you
don't believe that Yeshua is Lord you
cannot be saved both Peter and Paul
refer to Yeshua as God and savior and
Thomas calls Yeshua my Lord and my God 2
Peter 1:1 Peter says Simon Peter a
bonder servant and Apostle of Jesus
Christ to those who have obtained like
Precious Faith with us by the
righteousness of Our God and Savior
Jesus Christ right here Yeshua is called
both God and savior likewise Paul calls
Yeshua our great God and savior in Titus
213 looking for the Blessed hope and
glorious appearing of our great God and
Savior Jesus Christ he's referring to
the return of Jesus as the Glorious
appearing of our great God and savior
Yeshua is our great God and savior
similarly when doubting Thomas touched
the Risen Savior he proclaimed in faith
that Yeshua is both Lord and God John
20:28 says and Thomas answered and said
to him my Lord and my God likewise when
we have faith we understand and Proclaim
that Yeshua is my Lord and my God aside
from direct claims to Dey Yeshua
demonstrated his deity by his authority
over sin and his ability to judge and
forgive sins John 5:22-23 says for the
father judges no one but has committed
all judgment to the son that all should
honor the son just as they honor the
father he who does not honor the son
does not honor the father who sent him
Yeshua said that we should give him the
same honor that is given to the father
and anyone who does not honor Yeshua as
the son does not honor the father either
could anyone but the Son of God make
this claim when Yeshua used his
authority to forgive sins he was accused
of blasphemy Mark 25-7 says when Jesus
saw their faith he said to the paralytic
son your sins are forgiven you and some
of the scrib were sitting there and
reasoned in their hearts saying why does
this man speak blasphemies like this who
can forgive sins but God alone if Yeshua
has the authority to forgive sins then
he must be God because only God has the
authority to forgive sins this idea
comes from Isaiah 43 Isaiah 43:25 says I
even I am he who blots out your
transgressions for my own sake and I
will not remember your sins the scribes
are familiar with the scriptures which
is why they said that only God can
forgive sins so to prove that he has
authority to forgive sins Yeshua healed
the paralyzed man and commanded him to
walk Mark 28-12 says but immediately
when Jesus perceived in a spirit that
they reasoned thus within themselves he
said to them why do you reason about
these things in your hearts which is
easier to say to the paralytic your sins
are forgiven you or to say arise take up
your bed and walk but that you may know
that the son of man has power on Earth
to forgive sins he said to the paralytic
I say to you arise take up your bed and
go to your house immediately he arose
took up the bed and went out in the
presence of all of them so that they
were amazed and glorified God saying we
never saw anything like this first
notice that Yeshua was able to hear
their thoughts this indicates Divine
Authority next he poses a question which
is easier to say your sins are forgiven
or stand up and walk it's not about how
easy it is to say those words anyone can
say your sins are forgiven but can you
prove what you said is true likewise
anyone could tell a [ __ ] to stand up
and walk but do you have the authority
to actually cause him to walk Yeshua was
demonstrating that he is God incarnate
because he has the authority to forgive
sins and the authority to make the
[ __ ] walk he proved that he has the
authority to forgive sins because he
demonstrated by causing the [ __ ] man
to walk proving that he is god without
saying that he is God we could go on and
on for hours talking about everything
Yeshua said and did that point to his
deity he healed the blind he healed
lepers and he raised the dead these are
all things that point to his deity he
fed thousands with just a few loaves of
fish and he cursed the fig tree and it
died and he cleansed the temple these
things also point to his deity he spoke
to a storm and it stopped he walked on
water and he rose from the dead these
things point to his deity he claimed to
be the living bread from Heaven he
claimed to share Glory with the father
he claimed that to see him is to see the
father he claimed that he came from
heaven and he claimed that he is the
Fulfillment of the law and the prophets
all these claims are claims to deity he
prophesied that Judas would betray him
he prophesied the destruction of the
temple he prophesied his own death and
resurrection and he prophesied that he
would return all of these things point
to his deity as well he was worshiped by
both humans and Angels which indicates
his deity he claimed to be God's son
which is a claim to deity and the Bible
says he is the creator in John 1
Colossians 1 and Hebrews 1
which is acclaimed to deity he is called
the Son of God and he was born of a
virgin which we discussed last week
which points to his deity as well he
came down from heaven and he ascended
back to Heaven which is also a sign of
deity and this is where we get into one
of the most interesting claims of deity
the phrase son of man when Yeshua told
Nicodemus that he is the only one who
has ascended and descended from Heaven
he referred to himself as the son of man
John 3:13 says no one has ascended to
heaven but he who came down from heaven
that is the son of man who is in heaven
this is a reference to Proverbs 30:4
which talks about the Son of God but
Yeshua calls himself the son of man
Proverbs 30:4 says who is ascended into
heaven or descended who has gathered the
wind in his fists who has bound the
waters in a garment who has established
all the ends of the Earth what is his
name and what is his son's name if you
know this indicates that God has a son
and that we should know his name yesh
yesu is called the Son of God dozens of
times in the New Testament but he
referred to himself as the son of man
even more times here are a few
interesting claims that he made in
reference to himself being the son of
man the Angels belong to Yeshua the son
of man Matthew 13:41 says the son of man
will send out his angels and they will
gather out of his kingdom all things
that offend and those who practice
lawlessness do you see here that the son
of man will send his angels to his
kingdom these things indicate his Divine
Authority as God incarnate when speaking
about his return he mentions some
imagery from the Prophet Daniel about
the son of man riding on the clouds
Matthew 24:30 says then the sign of the
son of man will appear in heaven and
then all the tribes of the earth will
mourn and they will see the son of man
coming on the Clouds Of Heaven with
power and great Glory this is a claim to
Dei because who can ride on the clouds
but God Alone notice also that he comes
with power and Glory these things
indicate his Divine Authority coming
from heaven with him the son of man
riding on the clouds comes from Daniel 7
and it points to the divine nature of
Yeshua Daniel 7:13-14 says I was
watching in the night visions and behold
one like the son of man coming with the
Clouds Of Heaven he came to the Ancient
of Days and they brought him near before
him then to him was given dominion and
glory and a kingdom that all the peoples
Nations and languages should serve him
his Dominion is an everlasting Dominion
which shall not pass away and his
kingdom the one which shall not be
destroyed the son of man has given Power
Glory and a kingdom that lasts forever
and all the people will be made to
worship him now look at what he said to
the high priest in response to the
question of who he was this happened
during the trial before his crucifixion
Matthew 26 63-65 says and the high
priest answered and said to him I put
you under oath by the Living God tell us
if you are the Christ the Son of God
Jesus said to him it is as you said
nevertheless I say to you Hereafter you
will see the son of man sitting at the
right hand of the power and coming in
the Clouds of heaven then the high
priest tore his clothes saying he has
spoken blasphemy what further need do
you have of Witnesses look now you have
heard his blasphemy the high priest
immediately took yeshua's statement as
blasphemy he understood that Yeshua was
claiming to be God Yeshua called himself
the son of man and he said that he sat
at the right hand of the Father in
heaven and then he referred to Daniel's
prophecy about the son of man coming in
the Clouds Of Heaven the high priest
knew what Yeshua was saying he was
claiming to be deity he was claiming
equality with God the Father by saying
that he sits at the right hand of the
father he was claiming deity when he
said he was the one who comes in the
clouds and so we see that the son of man
phrase is connected with his deity he's
both Son of God and Son of Man meaning
he is fully God and fully man he is God
incarnate this is why the Apostle Paul
has so much to say about the deity of
Yeshua he explained that Yeshua was in
the form of God and equal with God but
he humbled himself and became a man to
die for our sins Philippians 25-7 says
let this mind be in you which was also
in Christ Jesus who being in the form of
God did not consider it robbery to be
equal with God but made himself of no
reputation taking the form of a bond
servant and coming in the likeness of
men the Bible also tells us that the
fullness of God dwelt in the body of
Yeshua Colossians 2:9 says for in him
dwells all the fullness of the godhead
bodily this means the fullness of God
was dwelling in a human body he wasn't
half God and half man he was fully God
because the fullness of God dwelt in him
and yet he was also fully human this is
described as a great mystery that God
was manifested in the flesh 1 Timothy
3:16 Says and without controversy great
is the mystery of godliness God was
manifested in the flesh justified in the
spirit seen by Angels preached among the
Gentiles believed in the world received
up in glory god was manifested in the
flesh as Yeshua the Son of God John 1:1
says in the beginning was the word and
the Word was with God and the Word was
God and John 114 says and the word
became flesh and dwelt among us and we
beheld his glory the glory as of the
only begotten of the father full of
grace and Truth Yeshua is God incarnate
he is the fullness of God in bodily form
he shares Glory and Honor with the
father and he's worship with the father
Yeshua created all things which makes
him God one final thing to consider is
the New Covenant in Jeremiah 31:31
Yahweh says I will make a New Covenant
listen what God says here Jeremiah 31
31-33 says behold the days are coming
says the Lord Yahweh when I will make a
New Covenant with the house of Israel
and with house of Judah not according to
the Covenant that I made with their
fathers in the day that I took them by
the hand to lead them out of the land of
Egypt my Covenant which they broke
though I was a husband to them says the
Lord but this is the Covenant I will
make with the house of Israel after
those days says the Lord I will put my
law in their minds and write it on their
hearts I will be their God and they
shall be my people Yahweh is the one who
led Israel out of the land of Egypt and
Yahweh is the one who will make the New
Covenant and the purpose of the New
Covenant is to put his law in our minds
and our hearts so that he will be our
God and we will be his people however we
see in the gospels that Yeshua is the
one who came to make the New Covenant so
this means that Yeshua is Yahweh this
also means that Yeshua is the one who
led Israel out of Egypt and Yeshua wants
to put his law in our hearts and in our
minds and Yeshua wants to be our God and
he wants us to be his people I know I
rushed through a lot of these things and
I could have probably spent an hour on
each point and there there are even more
details that I didn't even get to
mention here today but I wanted to give
you a broad overview of many of the
things the Bible says about the deed of
Yeshua so you would have a good
foundation on this topic the deed of
Yeshua isn't based on one or two verses
this Doctrine is pervasive throughout
the entire Bible and I hope that this
brief overview has helped you see
that hey friends if you've been enjoying

that we've explored the depths of
today's topic it's time to hear from you
welcome to the Q&A portion of the show
where you can ask questions about
today's topic so post your questions in
the chat and let's talk
biblical all right hey guys uh welcome
to the Q&A port of the show um first the
first question I have in here today says
does the subagent say EG and me in
Exodus
314 and yes it does and let me see if I
can get this up on the screen for you
um I did a screenshot here here we
go all right uh see let's go and put
this where you can see it
better all right so we see here is a
screenshot from the seent and we have
um so verse 14
starts
kaios
uh anyway uh God said to Moses saying I
am the one who exists and I've got it
highlighted here it says egoo and me um
where it says I am you've got
highlighted here in yellow uh that is
the ego and me and um that is
the uh the Greek words I am the same
Greek words that are used in the New
Testament when Yeshua says I am he says
ego me and he uses that phrase numerous
times uh throughout the New
Testament um and I only mentioned some
of them uh but there's actually several
others uh there's there's a whole list
of statements they're called the I am
statements of Yeshua and it's all these
different things he said about himself I
am the bread from Heaven I am the bread
of life I am the Living Water I am um
The Way of the truth and life I am the
resurrection in the life I am uh you
know all these different things he
there's I I think there's about 10 or 12
of them and um I didn't even get into
those um except for I'm the way the
truth and life that's that's the one I
mentioned um the ones I wanted to to
highlight though were uh the the time
whenever he said before Abraham was I am
when he when he uh they came to arrest
him and he said I am and they fell over
and the time when he walked on water and
he said I am those those story I wanted
to highlight specifically because um
they they really show some
significance in the claim you know
before Abraham was I am is a claim that
he existed before Abraham uh when he
said I am and they fell over that that
shows is power and when he was walking
on water and said I am that shows that
he is God who walks on water um so I
wanted to highlight those things
specifically but even within the the I
am statements I am the bread of life I
am the way the truth and life I am um
the resurrection of the life um those
those statements that he makes those are
also claims to deity and it would just
you know we just didn't have time to
unpack everything that he said in the
New Testament the claims to deity but
those are all claims to deity and yes
the subt tuent does use Egan in Exodus
3:14 uh okay next question says if Jesus
Is God why doesn't he know the end only
his father does thank you okay
so um this is one of those puzzles that
um theologians have wrestled with and
the the best way to understand it is
when you think about wedding
language and within a traditional Jewish
wedding um the way that happens is
there's a betral period where the the
the bride and groom become betrothed and
they're engaged and then the groom goes
and prepares a home for the bride while
he's away prep preparing the home the
the bride is preparing herself for the
wedding and the groom is preparing the
home for the bride when the home is
ready then the father of the groom tells
the groom okay go get your bride
and so that's that's kind of what this
phrase is is connected to he says only
his father knows because it's it's all
in the father's
choice on when when the house is ready
for the bride to
come and so it wasn't um it's not
a uh a thing where where God says okay I
have a date set in mind and on uh you
know September 23rd
2036 or whatever like he doesn't have
that date in mind he's looking at at the
the world and he's saying what's the
state of the world what's the state of
the people um you know have have all
these things come to pass and time to
him isn't really as relevant as the
details of what's going on um and so
when he sees all the details line up and
he says okay you know these things have
happened these these are things that
needed to happen now it's time uh go and
get your
bride and so that that's really what it
boils down to is that it's the father's
ultimate choice on when the time happens
and that's related to uh traditional
Jewish wedding and so the language
that's used there is is very similar to
what you'd see in a Jewish wedding um
and when we look at some of the other
language that's used um he talks about
how he is the bride or he is the groom
and we are the bride and that the groom
is going to go away and come back for
his bride there's going to be a wedding
celebration and um you know this this
Bridal language is used throughout the
Bible um Israel is is called the bride
in the Old Testament God is the husband
to her we see this in Jeremiah 31 uh you
know the Covenant which you broke though
I was a husband to you says the Lord um
th that Bridal language that marriage
language is used throughout the Bible
and we see that used um specifically in
the New Testament in the gospels as well
uh in relation with Yeshua and his bride
um and so uh but good
question uh let's see next question here
if Jesus Is God why doesn't he know the
end only God knows uh actually I think
this is the same question just
rewarded
um but yeah
that's okay here's here's another
question uh who was Jesus praying to
when he said father he was praying to
his father um we have Father Son and
Holy Spirit and those three uh all three
of them together are one and uh we see
that throughout the Bible as well and so
you have like for example in Matthew
let's get just go and turn to Matthew 28
and I'll pull that up on the
screen and this is the
um the Great Commission and so we have
go therefore and Make Disciples of all
Nations baptizing them in the name of
the father Son and Holy Spirit so it's
the name singular of the Father Son and
Holy Spirit and so these three together
have one name they they are one God they
they share a name and so the three
together are one God um let's see what's
another good
example uh at
the um at the baptism of Yeshua we have
Yeshua in the water being baptized the
Holy Spirit descending like a dove and
and God the Father speaking from Heaven
this is my beloved Son in whom I'm well
pleased um those three are all
identified
separately um but they are working
together in in that same
instance um we have in creation we have
that the spirit of God hovering over the
face of the waters God speaking and his
words coming out and the words causing
things to exist and um in in John 1 it
says in the beginning was the word the
word was with God and the Word was God
and so the word that God spoke that
caused everything to exist was also God
his word is him and that word became
flesh and dwelt among us and it took on
bodily form and you know in Colossians
it says that in him dwells the fullness
of the B of the godhead bodily and so we
we don't have three Gods we don't have
father son Holy Spirit as three Gods we
have father Son and Holy Spirit as one
God and the three are unified together
as one one God one being one
godhead um and I I know um it's hard for
us to wrap our mind around that um and
and I explained last week uh a little
bit on this it's kind of like how our
body we are a tripartate type being we
have a mind we have a body we have a
soul or a spirit and so we have these
different parts that that make us up and
all of those parts together make us who
we are um you know me without my mind is
not me it's just a body right me without
my spirit is not me because then I'd be
dead you know I I wouldn't have the the
spirit of Life energizing me so I have
no Spirit U me without my body is not me
because I don't have a body to contain
my my spirit or my soul or my my mind
and so
um the you know the creation of Adam got
God formed a body from the dust he he
formed this body and then he breathed
into it the breath of life that Breath
of Life is the spirit the
ruach and that energized the man and he
became a living soul and that living
Soul has a mind and a body and the
spirit and all those things compose what
a soul is is a mind body and spirit and
when you remove the Spirit uh then the
body is dead it's no longer a soul it's
a corpse and so you have to have this
Spirit the Breath of Life uh for you to
be alive and without this the breath of
life you are a corpse and and so in
Ecclesiastes whenever it talks about the
death of a man it says that the spirit
whom God gave returns to
God and it's talking about the breath of
life that God gave us that energized us
when we die he he receives that spirit
that Breath of Life back to him and our
our body goes back to the dust it says
our body returns to the dust and the
spirit goes back to God who gave it and
so we we're we're no longer alive we are
dead um but all those things together
the the body the spirit the mind compose
who we are as a soul and that makes us
an individual soul and so when we think
about God the the soul of God is that he
is Yahweh the individual parts of that
soul is that there is the Father the Son
and the Holy Spirit okay and so that's I
I think probably one of the best ways um
to explain
I I think the the the godhead being
three in one um that they all work
together they are all part of that one
God uh but they are different uh
individually identified from one another
um and so you know another example that
I've given is is like if you go to the
ocean and you take a cup and you dip it
in the ocean you fill it up with with
water you have ocean water in your cup
everything you examine what's in the cup
with what's in the water in in the ocean
they're exactly identical there's no
difference between
them uh the only difference is that this
is contained now in a cup and it's not
out in in the open um and so you can
have a cup full of ocean water and you
have ocean you have the ocean in your
cup and that's kind of the way Yeshua
was he he contained the fullness of the
godhead bodily he was God contained in a
cup God contained in a human body and
that's that's kind of what was happening
there
um but they were individually identified
from one another so the son recognized
the father and and the son spoke to the
father and uh the father spoke to the
son and so for example when Yeshua
prayed he prayed to the father and when
the father spoke from Heaven he spoke to
his son and we see numerous examples of
that and he said I came to do the will
of my father um and so we we see that he
is um distinguishing himself from the
father in certain ways but then at other
times he says I and my father are one
and if you've seen me you've seen the
father and I share Glory with the father
and when the Bible says that God shares
Glory with no one and there's no other
gods but him but Yeshua said I share
Glory with the father so either Yeshua
is lying and he's a he's a crazy madman
or he shares Glory with the father and
the Bible says that no one shares Glory
with the father and that there's only
one God so if Yeshua shares glory of the
father then that means that he is God
and so there's um so many things that we
could dig into on this
topic but um like I said that we just
don't have time to cover every single
verse in the Bible that points the de of
Yeshua we could go on and on and on for
hours and hours and hours
um uh Mike Horton says what's what is
memorial name in Exodus 3:15 the Lord
the god of your fathers the god of
Abraham the god of Isaac and the god of
Jacob has sent me to you this is my name
forever
and this is my
Memorial okay this is the name he us to
be remembered by that's what memorial
means is is how you're supposed to
remember him how you're supposed to know
who he is um he's he's not the guy God
of Abraham and Ishmael okay so that's a
different God so when people say that
the Muslims worship the same God as the
Christians and Jews that's absolutely
false uh they don't worship the god of
Abraham Isaac and Jacob they worship the
god of Abraham ishma
and
Esau and so that's the god of of uh uh
the Muslims and it's not the same God as
the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob um
and so that's that that's why it's it's
a memorial this is the God we serve this
is who he is he is the god of Abraham
Isaac and Jacob Abraham Isaac and Jacob
are the fathers of our faith they are
the foundation of Israel they are the
foundation of the Bible and um the God
who they serve is The God Who We Serve
or or that's that's who this God is
anyway I'm assuming you serve him if you
are watching this but maybe you
don't but the point is that the god of
the Bible is the god of Abraham Isaac
and
Jacob um and that's how he's supposed to
be remembered and known
by uh let's see
on fire for the Lord says in Revelations
when our Lord returns and meet him in
the air is this where confusion about
the Rapture is made up actually that is
a reference to 1
Thessalonians uh
and uh well there's actually several
references um so Matthew 24 uh 1
Thessalonians 4 uh 1 Corinthians
15 um
let's see I'm going to try to find this
real
quick okay here's first Thessalonians 4
U and then Revelation 21 I believe has a
mention of the uh Resurrection uh 1
Thessalonians 4:13 but I do not want you
to be ignorant Brethren concerning those
who have fallen asleep lest you sorrow
as others who have no
hope uh for if we believe that Jesus
died and rose again even so God will
bring with him those who sleep in Jesus
for this we say to you by the word of
the Lord that we who are alive and
remain until the coming of the Lord will
by no means prede those who are asleep
for the Lord himself will descend from
heaven with a shout with the voice of an
archangel and with the trumpet of God
and the dead in Christ will rise
first then we who are alive and remain
will be cut together uh shall be caught
up together with him uh with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air and
thus we shall always be with the Lord
therefore Comfort one another with these
words and so this is Comfort to those
who mourn over a death of loved one and
that's the purpose of this um this has
nothing to do with Rapture though this
has to do with uh the
resurrection and so he says uh the Lord
will descend from heaven with a shout
the voice of Archangel and with the
trumpet of God and the dead in Christ
will rise first so it's talking about
the resurrection of the dead and so the
dead will be resurrected and then those
of us who are alive and remain those who
who are remaining alive when this
Resurrection takes place we will also be
caught up together with them to meet the
Lord in the air um but notice he is
coming
down
um it was a uh let's
see uh where's it
at yeah the Lord himself will descend
verse 14 uh verse 16 the Lord himself
will descend from heaven with a shout
with a voice of Archangel and TR of God
so he is descending from Heaven he's
coming down from heaven and so many of
the um Rapture theories basically say
that um this isn't his return this is
just him uh he he's coming part way and
he's not returning to Earth uh to set up
his kingdom and to Reign and rule for a
thousand years he is just coming down
partway and we're going to go up and
meet him halfway and then he's going to
turn around and take us back to heaven
with him and that's the Rapture um and
then later it's some point he's coming
back for real and then he's going to set
up his kingdom on Earth that's not what
the Bible portrays um he's this is him
descending to Earth and uh there's let's
look at a couple other verses to compare
with let's look at Matthew 24 first
um and and let's
go let's just
start let's start at the beginning
Matthew 24:1 the Jesus went out and
departed from the temple and his
disciples came to show him the buildings
of the temple and Jesus said to them do
you see all these things ass surely I
see you not one shall be left upon
another that shall not be thrown down so
he's talking about the destruction of
the temple now as he sat on the Mount of
Olives the disciples came to him
privately saying tell us when will these
things be and what will be the sign of
your coming and of the end of the Agee
so they're asking three questions when
will these things be the destruction of
the temple uh what is the sign of your
coming the sign of your return and when
is the end of the age and so those are
three separate events um that they're
asking about Jesus answered and said to
them take heed that no one deceives you
for many will come in my name saying I'm
the Christ and will deceive many so he's
talking about many false Christ coming
and people claiming that Yeshua is the
Christ and leading people astray so
there are false teachers who are claim
that Yeshua is the Messiah and they lead
people astray and we see other verses uh
like Matthew chapter 7 where it talks
about wolves and sheep's clothing and
how they they say Lord Lord do we not
prophesy in your name and do all these
things in your name and he says I didn't
know you you worker of lawlessness and
the Bible also talks about false
prophets and false teachers Among Us who
will lead people astray and so there are
people who claim to believe in Yeshua as
the Lord and Messiah um but there
leading people astray with false
doctrines and that's something that this
refers to as well not just people saying
hey look at me I'm Jesus it's people
saying he's Jesus he's the Lord he's the
Messiah and I'm going to teach you this
false Doctrine that's going to lead you
astray um that's that's really both of
those are
applicable and you will hear wars and
rumors of wars see that you're not
troubled for these are these things must
come to pass but the end is not yet so
he says there's there's going to be wars
and rumors of wars and don't let that
bother you um that's not the sign he's
saying this is not the sign of the end
he said the end will the end is not yet
so all these wars and and rumors of wars
the the World War I World War II uh you
know the different different Wars that
have taken place over the years um and
even rumors of of future Wars taking
place and and uh things like that that's
not the sign that's not the sign he's
saying to look for he says the end is
not
yet for nation will rise against nation
and Kingdom against Kingdom
and there will be famines pestilence
earthquakes and various places so he's
he's again giving all kinds of crazy
stuff that's going to happen but this is
not the sign so Nation Rise Against
Nation this could be a civil war Nation
Rising against itself or it could be two
different nations Rising against each
other two different kingdoms rise
against each other um e in either case
we've seen that we've seen multiple
examples but um and you know pestilence
famines earthquakes all over the world
we see these all the time every year and
they seem to be increasing um but that
is not the sign of the end all these
things are the beginning of Sorrows
these are just the beginning there
there's more to come um then they will
deliver you up to tribulation and kill
you and you'll be hated by All Nations
for my name's sake so then he tells us
there's going to be
tribulation and there's going to be
persecution and and martyrs and
death and then many will be offended and
will betray one another and will hate
one another so again this is not the
sign of his coming though this is things
preceding his coming so the tribulation
persecution and people being offended
and betraying one another is the stuff
that happens before his coming it's not
the sign of his coming then many false
prophets will rise and deceive many and
because of lawlessness uh because
lawlessness abound the love of many will
grow cold and I think you could argue
that many of these things have already
happened and are happening now
um but he who endur to the end will be
saved and so at no point yet has he
given us the sign of his coming um and
this and this Gospel of the Kingdom will
be preached in all the world as a
witness to all the nations and then the
end will come okay so now we have
something concrete the gospel is going
to go out to all the nations every
nation in the world is going to hear
have opportunity to hear the gospel
there's not a single nation on Earth who
will be able to say I didn't
know that's the that's what he's waiting
for is for us to complete the mission
that he says go into all the nations and
preach the gospel baptizing them making
disciples uh that mission is what he's
waiting for the Fulfillment of and once
that's been accomplished when every
nation has heard the gospel every nation
has had the opportunity to know about
Yeshua that's when the end is going to
come um therefore when you see the
abomination of desolation spoken by
Daniel the Prophet standing in the Holy
place whoever reads let him understand
he's saying the you know whoever reads
this understand this is this is
something different than what you're
expecting um and so the the Abomination
desolation spoken of by Daniel was
fulfilled in Antiochus epiphanies um
during the inner testamental period
during the time of the macbes and Yeshua
is referencing that and saying it's
going to happen again but this this's a
note here that says whoever reads let
him understand is is like saying is it's
not exactly the same as the first time
and so we don't have antias coming in
and um offering pigs on the Altar and
setting up an an an idol of Zeus in the
temple um it's going to be something
different and that's why we have to have
understanding so we can understand
what's going
on uh then let those who are in Judea
flee to the mountains let him who is on
the housetop not go down and take
anything out of his house and let him
who is in the field not go back and get
clothes but woe to those who are
pregnant nursing in those days and pray
that your flight be not in Winter or on
the Sabbath and you know for those who
say the Sabbath is not meaningful
anymore not important anymore then why
would he
say in the last days pray that you
flight me not on the
Sabbath seems that we should be uh
observing the Sabbath even in these
Troublesome
times that he's talking about
here for then there will be Great
Tribulation such as has not been seen
since the beginning of the world until
this time nor ever shall be so now he's
talking about the Great
Tribulation and unless those days were
shortened no flesh would be saved for
the elect's sake those days will be
shortened then if anyone says to you
look here is the Christ or there do not
believe it for false Christ and false
prophets will rise and show great signs
and wonders to deceive even if possible
even the elect okay so these uh these
false prophets um will bring Miracles
and signs and wonders to deceive people
and um it's possible that even the elect
might be deceived by these false
prophets um see see I have told you
beforehand so he's saying I'm I'm
warning you ahead of
time therefore I say to you look uh
therefore if they say to you look he is
in the desert do not go out or look he
is in the inner rooms do not believe it
for as Lightning comes from the East and
flashes to the West so also will be the
coming of the Santa Mani it's going to
be seen all over from east to west
everyone's going to see it everyone's
going to know it you're not going to be
caught off guard uh they're not going to
say oh he's already here uh he's over
there let's go find him everybody's
going to know his return it's going to
be seen by the whole world uh for whever
the carcass is there the angels will be
gathered uh there the Eagles will be
gathered
together um immediately after the
tribulation of those days the sun will
be dark and the moon will not give us
light the Stars will fall from Heaven
the powers of the heavens will be
shaken then the sign of the son of men
will appear in heaven and all the tribes
there will mourn and they will see the
son of man coming in the Clouds Of
Heaven with power and great Glory so
we're going to see him return uh we're
going to look up to the sky and we're
going to see him coming and the whole
earth is going to see him and he will
send his angels with a great sound of a
trumpet and they will gather together
his elect from the Four Winds from one
end of Heaven to the other now this is
the same thing that's being said in
first Timothy I'm sorry 1 Thessalonians
4 right he says as he is
descending uh from Heaven that the
angels will go out and there's going to
be a sound of a trumpet and and a shout
and the voice of the Archangel and he's
going to gather his elect and he starts
with the resurrection of the dead and so
he says he will he will gather uh his
angels will uh with a great uh son of a
great trumpet and they will gather his
elect from the Four Winds from one end
of Heaven to the other so they're going
to the whole earth is going to be uh
harvested and this you know the same the
the parable of the the wheat and the
tears we see the same thing um you know
the tears are gathered up and burned and
then the wheat is gathered into the into
the storehouse um now learn this purple
from the Fig Tree okay and he tells his
parable about the Fig Tree and about how
um it's a sign right uh when its branch
has already become tnder and puts forth
leaves you know the Summer's near so you
also when you see all these things
notice that the door uh that is near
it's at the doors as Surly I say to you
this generation this generation the one
who sees all these things not the one
he's speaking to the one who sees all
these things will by no means pass away
till all these things take place so when
we see these signs beginning to happen
that's the generation that's going to
see his
return Heaven Earth will pass away but
my words will by no means pass away um
but of that day and hour no one knows
not even the angels of heaven but my
father only okay so why does his father
only know this we we talked about that
earlier right um that it's it's this
idea that his father
has has this plan in place this his
father has set these times and these
things in motion and um that only the
father knows when it's time and he'll
send the son and he'll say okay now go
get your
bride um and then he goes into this
interesting comparison to the days of
Noah he says but as the days of Noah
were so also will the coming of the son
of man be and this is where a lot of
people get the Rapture also so 1
Thessalonians 4 and Matthew 24 right
here uh but
about the U two people together and one
be taken one be left
behind but listen to what it says and
this is where I mean the the the title
of the Left Behind series came from this
this section of scripture right here
that's why it's called Left Behind
because they're saying the ones who are
left behind are the ones who weren't
taken up in in the Rapture but when you
look at the context of this and what
it's saying it's not talking about a
Rapture okay so as the days of Noah were
so also will be the coming of the son of
man
so he's comparing it to the days of Noah
for as in the days before the flood they
were eating and drinking marrying and
giving marriage until the day that Noah
entered the Ark and did not know until
the flood came and took them all away
who was taken away in this example all
the Wicked the wicked people were taken
away by the flood and Noah and his
family were preserved on the earth in
the ark and when when the flood waters
went away everybody was gone but Noah
and the people on the boat and the
animals on the boat with him okay so uh
Noah and his family were not taken
during the flood they were left behind
the ones who were taken were the evil
people who were destroyed by the flood
and so uh that's what we got to keep in
mind as we read the rest of this right
and so then he says uh then two men will
be in the field one will be taken and
the other left who is taken the same one
who was taken in the example of Noah the
wicked one the evil one it's the the
parable of the wheat and the tears the
the the tears are gathered up first and
they're burned and then the wheat is
harvested into into the the uh
Storehouse uh verse 41 two women will be
grinding at the Mill one will be taken
and the other left again who's taken the
one who was the Wicked one who taken
away by the flood just as in the days of
Noah uh watch therefore for you not know
what hour your lord is
coming but know this if the Master of
the House had known what hour the thief
would come he would have watched and not
allowed his house to be broken into uh
therefore you also be ready for the son
of man is coming in an hour you do not
expect okay and and part of this you
know he didn't have uh he couldn't
answer their question you know he
couldn't say well I'm coming back at
this date um
because it wasn't it wasn't uh knowledge
information that he was supposed to give
to us right um that's why he said only
the father knows because that that
information was withheld so that he
couldn't reveal it uh to his
disciples um who then is faithful and
wise servant whom his master made ruler
over his household to give them food in
due season blessed is the servant who
his master when he comes will find him
so doing so he's saying we need to be a
good servant who is faithful even will
the master is away ass surely I say to
that he uh ass surely I say to you that
he will make him ruler over all his
Goods uh but if that evil servant says
in his heart my Master's delay and his
coming uh and begins to beat his fellow
servants and to eat and drink with the
drunkards uh the master of his servant
will come on a day when he is not
looking for him and an hour he is not
aware
of and will cut him into two and appoint
him a portion with the Hypocrites uh
there shall be weeping and ashing of
teeth okay so who is the master in this
scenario well Yeshua is the master um
this is also Acclaim to deity um and so
whenever he is says he is the master it
says that is you know he's the owner
he's the one who's in charge um and so
again
deity all right Matt says my wife passed
away and my nine-year-old daughter is
questioning God I know uh let's see how
do I reassure her with scripture if
Jesus heals why not
Mommy uh that is a that's always a hard
topic
um my dad uh when he was 65 he died of
of cancer he had uh multiple milom he
had bone cancer and we prayed and prayed
that God would heal him we prayed for
five years that God would heal him and
he died of
cancer um I believe that God can heal I
believe that God does heal um but God
doesn't always heal and it's hard for
us to understand why he in some cases he
heals and in other cases he doesn't
and I've seen I've seen some amazing
healings um we we we know a girl
personally that friends of our family
and she died um she was in the hospital
and she died in the hospital flatlined
and she was dead for several minutes and
we were you know we were all praying and
and fasting while she was in the
hospital and she died and then after a
couple minutes she woke back up and she
was alive again and the doctors can't
explain it
but uh when she woke up all of her
sickness was gone everything that was
causing her to be in the hospital she
had some pretty major issues going on
and the doctors couldn't even figure out
what half of it was and when she woke up
again it was all gone it was like she it
was like got hit a reset button on her
or something and I just rebooted her and
once once she was rebooted she was fine
and there was no uh no issues and so
we've seen stuff like that happen we've
seen people um
you know there's pretty dramatic
healings at times and then there's other
times when we pray and pray and and we
don't see those
healings and it's hard it's hard for us
to reconcile I think
sometimes um because you know I I
believe God does heal and I believe God
can heal and I believe God wants to heal
and I believe that um he is able to heal
and I believe the Bible says for us to
pray for healing
ing um and we've seen numerous healings
we've experienced healings I've I
personally have experienced
healings um and and and other answered
prayers as well and sometimes they're
seem trivial and other times they seem
pretty dramatic and and miraculous um
you know I remember a time when I was
probably 12 maybe 10 or
12 um and I had a a Swiss army knife and
I lost it in a 5 acre pasture and um it
was in the snow there was like a foot of
snow out in the pasture I lost it
somewhere we were riding a sled on the
back of of my neighbor's um dad's
tractor they had tied a sled to the back
of his tractor and he was Towing us
around his 5 acre pasture we were all
over that pasture that day for hours and
somewhere in that pasture I lost my
pocket knife and I really like that
pocket knife and it was It was kind of
special to me it was a gift from uh from
someone
and it it was it was special to me and I
was a sincere kid I prayed you know Lord
help me find my pocket knife which is a
really trivial thing you think about it
it's it's meaningless it's just a a
trinket you know I mean I have a a
pocket knife right here it was something
similar to this it's just a little Swiss
army knife the one I lost was red but
this one's black but it's it's just a
little poag
knife and it's easy to replace you know
20 30 bucks and you got a new knife uh
um but I prayed Lord help me find my
pocket knife and that night I had a
dream and in my dream I walked out into
the pasture looked down and there was my
pocket
knife and I in my dream I knew exactly
where it was out in the pasture so the
next day I got up and I walked out to
that exact spot in the pasture looked
down and there was my pocket knife I
didn't have to go hunting and digging
and searching for hours or days I just
walked straight to it and you know I I I
know that that was the Lord giving me
that dream to show me that he cares even
about the trivial things in my life and
the things that really aren't
significant so if he cares enough about
that trivial insignificant stupid little
pocketknife enough that he would tell me
how to find it then then that reassures
me that he he cares about the big stuff
too and so I trust him I I trust that he
he is in control and that he has
sovereignty and um some sometimes he
chooses to heal and sometimes he chooses
not to heal and it is it is up to his
Sovereign Choice whether someone
receives healing or not um and I can't
give you any more better explanation
than that it is up to
him and he's in control and we have to
trust him that he knows what he's
doing and so I don't know
why
um I don't know why your wife wasn't
healed I don't know why God chose to uh
let her
die um I don't know why my dad wasn't
healed I don't know why God chose to let
my dad
die
um but I know that he's in control and I
trust
him and
um he had a reason for it the Bible says
we we all have
um we there is a time to live and a time
to die right there we all have a a a uh
expiration date we are mortal we are all
going to die
um it's pointed for everyone to die once
and then the Judgment right and so uh
the the time on Earth you know the Bible
says a lot of things about how our time
is limited and it's just a vapor and um
you know some people live longer than
others you know we have examples like
Methuselah living 900 something years
and then we have examples of people
dying uh when they're just young
and uh everything in between and so some
people die of an old age and they live
to a great old age and they die um they
eventually die then but other people die
young for various reasons maybe they're
killed uh maybe they have some sort of a
tragedy happened um and and but we're
not guaranteed any amount of time on
Earth uh any one of us could die
tonight um we're not guaranteed tomorrow
and so we need to be happy and um
thankful for the time we do have and be
thankful the time for the time that you
did have with your wife and and I I I'm
thankful for the time I did have with my
dad
um
but uh we we have to understand that
that our time is limited and we are all
going to die um yes he has the power to
to heal yes he has the power to
resurrect um but he doesn't always do
that so hopefully that
helps
um let's
see okay my understanding of the Trinity
is that there is one Divine Authority
God made up of three persons is this
correct um that is the
basic uh
the basic understanding of it yeah
that's that there's one Divine God one
Divine Authority um and that that that
one God consists in three three parts or
three persons Father Son and Holy Spirit
and there's been a lot of attempts over
the years to try to um Define and um
explain that and they all kind of fall
short some of them end up being hey this
is a great example and but then they
fall short in this area and others are
just terrible examples all the way
around um and so like you know the the
the triquetra Trinity symbol um see if I
have something to draw on here it's that
uh Celtic
cross
um any I think you probably know what
I'm talking about it's like there's a uh
loop into a loop into back into another
loop and so it's it's kind of a
triangular looking thing that has these
um these Loops that all connect and it's
just a single line that that that
crosses um and and you know continues to
loop around and it's it's called the
triquetra it's a Celtic knot um and some
people have used that as an example of
the Trinity that there's three parts to
it there's these three bulbs that come
off of it but they all three together
make this one uh Celtic knot and it's
been given as an example of the Trinity
and sometimes it's even presented as a
symbol of the trinity um but that falls
short because these each of those knots
is separate from one another and um they
they're not unified in the sense that um
God is one and so then I've heard people
say that it's like a circle on top of a
circle on top of a circle and all three
of these circles are exactly layered on
top of each other um so that you can't
even separate them and but there's three
three distinct circles that are all laid
on top of each other um but still there
e even though it's finite there's still
a difference between them they're all
layered but no matter how
small the uh the layer is there's still
some distinction being made one circle
is not the other and and they're
individual um the one circle is not the
hole um and so and I think that's the
biggest point is the one circle is not
the hole it's uh part of the hole and
that that's where it falls
short and then you have um like the
people given an egg as an example and
they say well you know you have the uh
the shell and you have Yol and you have
the white and all three of those things
make up an egg and and so there there's
your egg
but it still falls short and there's
there's different ways that that that
kind of an example can fall short so the
uh the Yol is not the shell and so you
can't say the Yoke and the shell are the
same um the yok is not the white so the
o and the white are not the same the the
white is not the shell you know they're
they're very distinct things and
um you know they're not they're not uh
the father is not the son and they're
not they're not um identical they don't
um what's the word they're not co-equal
um whereas the Bible seems to present
the Father and Son as
co-equal um and and so like Philippians
uh Philippians
2 and let's go
um uh
oh okay
uh let verse five let this mind be in
you which was also in Jesus Christ who
being in the form of God did not
consider it robbery to be equal with God
okay so he he being in the form of God
he was um and let's go ahead and and
let's look up the Greek word here and so
hang on give me a second I'm just going
to pull this up up and we're going to
look at Philippians
6 in the
Greek
and uh oh let me pull up on the screen
for you sorry and let's get change this
out there we go
okay and oops I got to resize this for
you
and it's backwards how do I do
that what did I
do there we go
okay all right all right so we've got
this
um pull up here it says he was in the
form of God the word form there is
morphe and um form appearance nature
shape our appearance and that word
nature there is the one I want to look
at because um he was in the nature of
God he had the same nature as God um he
being in the form of God um means
that he had the same nature the same
appearance the same um Essence about
him um and so you know the word
appearance and shape uh don't really do
justice to what this word is saying um
in this context because uh he he being
in the same shape of God or the same
appearance of God he appeared to look
like God doesn't really make sense in
the context this um it says that he um
he was in the form of God he didn't
consider robber to be equal with God so
he was in the same nature of God
um and
so
uh and then we have uh right here the
the Hebrew
equivalent uh would have to do with
words like uh tabn
and
tasim uh meaning pattern form or image
or likeness and
so uh this same pattern or form or image
or likeness um the essential form or
nature of something particularly in a
way that is visible or
manifest um and so it's the essential
form or nature of him so he in his
Essence he was God and so uh he he being
in the essence of God he being in the
form of God he being the nature of God
he he is God by Essence he is God by
Nature
um uh the term applies more than
external appearance encompasses the true
essence or nature of a being and so
again he was in this he he had the same
essence of God he had the same nature of
God and
so who being in the nature of God or the
essence of God did not consider it
robbery to be equal with god well why
didn't he consider it robbery to be
equal with God and so let's look here
um not something to be grasped and so
that that something to be grasped there
is is
um grasping robbery
seized um a prize to
snatch um seasoning or taken by
force
um there's also to to cling to I think
is is in here as
well uh thing to be grasped
uh let's
see
plundered uh robbery and so he he didn't
think it robbery right to be equal with
God and this word equal with
God is um equivalent the same
identical um and so he didn't think it
robbery to be considered identical with
God he didn't think get robbery to be
considered the same or equal with God
why because he was in essence God he was
in by Nature God and so he he he didn't
think it who being in the the nature or
Essence of God did not consider it
robbery to be equal with God why because
he is equal with God it's not robbery
because he is equal with
God okay made himself of no reputation
taking the form of a bonder servant and
coming in the likeness of men now let's
look at
that so let's go over here and let's go
back let's go to verse
seven took the
form of a servant and the likeness of
men okay so uh same word for form here
uh where'd it go form uh morphine so
it's has to do with morphe form or
appearance to Nature so he took on the
form appearance or nature of a man a
servant um and the likeness of men okay
the likeness here uh has to do with uh
resemblance
um made like something else a likeness a
form a
similitude uh to resemble okay so he
took on the resemblance of human he was
in the form and nature of God and was
considered equal with God and he took
the resemblance of a
human do do you see what he's saying
here he's saying that uh Yeshua is God
incarnate and he came in the appearance
and the resemblance of a man the
likeness of a
man and being found in appearance as a
man he humbled himself okay so what does
this word say here uh let's go back and
let's go to the next verse
8 and in appearance having been found as
a man this word appearance here is SC
and it means appearance fashion
external condition habit form
appearance uh from the Greek uh verb EO
meaning to have or to
hold um there's no direct Hebrew
equivalent uh it's related to pattern or
form external form or
shape and so again it's it's talking
about his external appearance his shape
his uh exterior his
body um his
appearance his Earthly body here
um and it was not an exact match with
the typical Humanity because his body
was never touched or tainted by sin so
um anyway so we have that
Yeshua being in nature God by his
Essence his very being is God took the
appearance of a man and the likeness of
a man and he humbled himself be became
obedient to death on the
cross therefore God has exalted him and
given him the name which is above every
name that at the name of Jesus every
knee should bow of those in heaven and
those on Earth and those under the Earth
and that every tongue which confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God
the Father this is a quote uh from the
Old Testament and let me go and pull
that
up and
so we
goans
to let me pull this up for you so you
can see okay so if you go to
bible.com and you have uh you can turn
on a feature I don't remember where the
option is but where you can see cross
references right and so you have these
little Bubbles and you look at the cross
reference given him the name which is
above every name that at the name of
Jesus every KNE should bow okay Isaiah
45:23 um and that every tongue should
confess uh Jesus Christ Lord so Isaiah
45:23 so let's go to Isaiah
4523 and actually might be faster to do
it this
way yeah I sworn my myself s the word
has gone of my mouth and righteousness
and shall not return that to me every
knee should bow and every tongue should
take an oath this is God speaking and he
says to me every knee will bow and every
tongue taken oath this is God's words
and but in Philippians it says that God
has exalted him and said that to Yeshua
every knee would bow and every tongue
confess and so this is again this is a a
claim of deity when every knee in heaven
and on Earth and under the Earth right
Philippians
and that at the name of Jesus verse 10
that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow of those in heaven and of
those on Earth and of those under the
Earth every knee in heaven is going to
Bow all the angels of heaven are going
to bow to Jesus all of the Heavenly Host
everything every Heavenly being and
creature that exists is going to Bow
Down and Worship Yeshua
and of those on the earth so all
Humanity every human being on Earth is
going to Bow and worship Yeshua and of
those under their Earth this is
reference to all those who are
dead and it's to reference to the
underworld and the excuse
me could even even be a reference to um
the Demonic realm that they will bow and
worship Yeshua that every knee in Heaven
and Earth and under the Earth will bow
and worship Yeshua that is a strong
claim of deity and that every tongue
should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord
to the glory of God the Father they will
all confess that he is Lord meaning he
is God and I saw a comment in there
earlier I couldn't find it but the
person said that the word Lord uh was
used in in place of the uh Hebrew word
uh the tetran the Y the the the name of
God Yahweh
and uh yes that's true and the reason
for that is they um the Jewish people uh
did not translate the name Yahweh uh
they did not speak the name Yahweh they
would say Lord or
Adonai uh instead of Yahweh and so
that's where adoni began to replace
Yahweh is because they would call uh
Yahweh Adonai they would call him Lord
um and this was a uh this was done as
tradition to honor his name and not to
uh defile his name and use it in profane
ways and so they would they were they
they wouldn't speak the name outside the
temple so the the the name Yahweh the
the the tetr Graton y was only spoken in
the temple by the priests in the
synagogue they would say Adonai and in
the streets they would say Hashem Hashem
means the name and so is these levels of
Holiness and so in the temple you could
use his holy name in the synagogue you
had use a substitute for His holy name
and in the streets you would use another
substitute that was further
uh uh withdrawn from the uh the Holiness
of the name and so they'd say Hashem in
the street and so this was a way of
honoring his name well in the New
Testament we see that the New Testament
authors did the same thing when they
wrote uh quoted the Old Testament they
said Lord they didn't say
uh y they didn't write Yahweh they wrote
Lord or uh curios in Greek or God Theos
in Greek those are the terms the New
Testament authors used when quoting the
Old Testament and referring to God they
did not say his name and they didn't
write his name in Greek uh they wrote
either Theos or curios Lord or God and
um it was a way of honoring his name the
interesting thing about that is when so
now when they say um Yeshua is Lord and
they quote the Old Testament and it says
Lord in reference to God um you see that
there is a connection and so they they
didn't say Yeshua is Yahweh they said
yeshu is Lord but when they quoted the
Old Testament the Old Testament says
calls God lord and they're using these
Old Testament quotes of about God and
applying them to Yeshua numerous times
throughout the Bible this is one example
um but anyway the thing is I I really
hope that this has helped um I know that
there's a lot of confusion about the
deed of
Yeshua and uh there's a lot of people
teaching that he was not uh that he was
not God incarnate and those are false
teachers and they are trying they're
leading people astray they're teaching
false Doctrine and if they don't confess
that Yeshua is Lord that Yeshua is
Yahweh they are not a they're not a
follower of Yeshua they're not a
Believer they're not
saved they're a false teacher a false
prophet and you need to stop listening
to that nonsense because they do not
confess Yeshua as Lord if they say he
was a good man he was a good teacher he
was maybe even the Messiah u a good
Prophet um you know he was sent by God
but he wasn't God if they say anything
like
that just stop listening to them they
they're false teachers they're teaching
heresy they're teaching contrary to what
the Bible says says
um and you know Peter warns about that
he says Those Who uh even deny uh the
Lord who bought
them they're denying the Lord Jesus
they're denying the Lord Yeshua uh in in
what they're teaching he says they're
false teachers and you need to stay away
from
them and so um and you know if any of
you are struggling with the deed of
Yeshua um please just keep digging into
it um the Bible over and over and over
and over and over and over and over
points to his deity um and you know pray
that the Lord would open your eyes to
see that because it is all over the
place and but it's it's the holy spirit
that allows us to make that confession
that Yeshua is Lord and so only by the
Holy Spirit can you say Yeshua is Lord
that Yeshua is Yahweh that he is God
incarnate um that is by the power of the
Holy Spirit the Bible says and so um you
just pray that God would would enable
you to have that understanding so that
you can have that confession of Faith um
and if there are I I saw some comments
in the chat for people trying to uh
oppose this Doctrine and say that Jesus
is not God that Yeshua is not God
incarnate um you are wrong and you are
teaching false heresy and um if if you
